There are more reasons than ever to keep up to date with the latest smartphone. Never before has a pocket device been so useful. And with add-ons like wearable tech becoming more affordable, now is a very exciting time to be using one. If you know what you love most about your smartphone, then you can be sure your next upgrade will bring you plenty more goodies.
One our favorite things about smartphones is that you can communicate in so many different ways. Yes, it’s a phone. You can dial a number and natter away. But speakerphone makes it easier to multitask, or even bring other people into the conversation. Video calling like FaceTime and Skype mean you can show your mates exactly what you’re talking about.
Sending pictures, emojis, and texts are still great ways to procrastinate when you’re stuck in the office. With the new Watch from Apple, you can annoy your mates with cute little finger-drawn pics and your own heartbeat. Daft. Perhaps one of the best things to be included in the latest OS of the iPhone is the Health Tracker. Whether you have the Watch or not, you can keep a close record of your health and activity.
The humble Casio calculator hasn’t seen the light of day on a desk since cellphones got built in calculators. The iPhone certainly makes it easy to access with a quick swipe from the bottom of the screen, even in lock mode. There are so many apps offering all the functionality of a Microsoft Office Suite. You might be forgiven for doing almost all your office work on your phone.
Even more appealing is the iCloud. Store all your work online so it can be accessed from any of your devices from anywhere at any time. Awesome. With a simple iCloud login, you can even collaborate with your mates if you required. Music, videos, pics, and even app purchases are all stored away from our main devices now. Stream, or download whatever you need.
Social media is another favorite time-wasting activity we can’t live without. Smartphones make it accessible twenty-four hours a day. Apps make the basic functions quick and easy to do on the small screen. There are apps for watching live or catch-up TV. We can be listening to the radio, or even booking our next vacation. Why would your smartphone ever be out of your hand?
The built in LED torch was a stroke of genius. Need to find the cat in the dark? Dropped the last Oreo while watching a movie in the dark? Slide your finger up the screen and turn on the brightest torch ever to dazzle your corneas. A timer, alarm, and a countdown are standard functions that have been around for a couple of decades. But we wouldn’t give them up.
There are apps to turn on the house lights while we’re out. And there are apps to tell us how to make it back to the house when we’re lost. We just can’t live without our trusty smartphone. Is there anything we won’t be able to do with these little beauties?
