Orientation Is Not a Problem for Apple

Orientation Is Not a Problem for Apple

It’s not a secret that the large majority of big Western companies have a very strict policy in relation to the sexual orientation of employees. This strictness is that the nonstandard personal life of an employee has an inviolable status. Simply said, gays and lesbians have the right to speak openly about their orientation without fear of persecution or ridicule from the otherwise-minded colleagues. This trend is supported by several community organizations, which Apple workers also joined to.

At the fact of gays presence among Apple workers is nothing new. It’s no joke; you can start with the very top – with Tim Cook, for example. The life of these people is not always full of joy and, in particular, understanding and support from others. Social company «It Gets Better» is aimed at reducing the number of suicides among people with different sexual orientations. Apple’s image is already cracked in the eyes of wider public by widespread point of view: that gays create products for gays. However, a quick look at the competing companies will give no less interesting results. Absolutely the same situation exists in the Microsoft, and in Google, the last one in 2008, officially opposed the ban on gay marriages.
