iPad 2 Distorts Color Scheme in Video Files

iPad 2 Gamma Bug

You use the device for some weeks without having any problems, enjoy it — and here is a surprise for you: it turns out that the pad is out of order, at that exactly in the place which is constantly in view. Sometimes it happens so. After numerous complaints about display problems in the first batch of iPad 2, thorough users have found a new bug: the iPad distorts colors during video playback.

The problem was for the first time indicated last week at the official forum of Apple support. It became clear very soon, that the situation concerns all the owners of iPad 2. One and all. The thing is that during playback of any video clip, be it YouTube or clip from iTunes Store, the system works with gamma incorrectly. As a result, black color becomes unjustified lighter, and bright colors — a bit fader than they should be.

The most interesting thing is that each owner of iPad 2 can see the difference between how it must and must not be. For this you need just to switch on for multitasking gestures through Xcode, and then slowly to begin minimizing the window of the program with the video played back. Also you can simply turn the gudget to change interface orientation. This moment the colors will turn into normal, as if nothing had happened. The bug can remain up to the debut of iOS 5.
