Apple is actively working on its own digital TV service on the basis of the operating system iOS.
An edition VentureBeat informs about this with the reference to a number of sources in Silicon Valley. According to Gene Munster, analyst at Piper Jaffray, Apple will launch digital television by the end of next year or in early 2013.
The analyst noted that information on the development of digital TV services from Apple is supported by the sources among suppliers of components for company devises, as well as some members of Apple. Munster believes that Apple will release a model of real TV, not just one television tuner (Apple TV), which will operate on the basis of revised version of iOS. However, he predicted it before, saying that by 2011 Apple will release its own model of TV.
Some other experts believe that the American electronics giant confine itself by the launch of a new TV web service, access to which will be available according to subscription. In their view, such a step would be logical for Apple in the company’s strategy to expand the computer market with the broader market of consumer electronics and services.
